Cathay Pacific has reaffirmed its leading position in premium travel by equipping its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with new Business and Premium Economy cabins. The Economy class has also received a design makeover. In all three travel classes, the airline has opted for high-quality wool fabrics from rohi.

The new, award-winning ‘Aria Suite’ Business class has been described with many superlatives such as ‘breathtaking, masterful, incomparable, artful, unique and intelligent’. The core message is that Cathay Pacific’s Customer Experience Design team and the JPA Design studio have succeeded in creating a design that is human centric. The seat design received special attention, because in an aircraft the seat is much more than just a seat – it is a bed, a personal cinema, an office and a restaurant.

Each design element and material has been carefully selected, including the SENSEO seat cover fabric in flannel grey designed by the rohi design team. The soft, tactile surface of the seats enhances passenger comfort and creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The end result is an organic space providing maximum comfort and unparalleled privacy. Evocative artwork on the cabin walls, inspired by nature and created by artists with close ties to Hong Kong, further enhances the soothing ambiance and is part of the airline’s ‘Gallery in the Skies’ concept.

An exceptional project embodying Cathay Pacific’s ‘move beyond’ motto and a wonderful collaboration that once again demonstrates the creativity and design expertise of the rohi team.
