GOETHE-THEATRE
Project: Goethe-Theatre, Bad Lauchstädt
Architects: Thomas Müller Ivan Reimann Architects
Built on Goethe’s Vision: Constructed in 1802 based on the plans of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, the theatre in Bad Lauchstädt is one of the few surviving original stages of its time. As part of an extensive restoration, the listed building was carefully returned to its original condition.
Faithfully reconstructed: The colour scheme of the auditorium was meticulously restored based on historical findings. The theatre’s distinctive tent-like ceiling also now shines once again in its original form – fully in line with Goethe’s colour theory.
A bold accent with style: Our classic wool fabric ARCO in a rich shade of red was used across all seating surfaces – from the benches in the stalls to the loose seats in the gallery. It integrates harmoniously into the overall concept and enhances the historic ambience without stealing the show.
Comfort and acoustics at their finest: In addition to its elegant appearance, ARCO impresses with outstanding acoustic properties and excellent seating comfort. The fabric plays a key role in creating an immersive sound experience and a cohesive, well-balanced atmosphere.
